On August 22, 2009, The Nine was host to an Urban Arts opening.  It was an effort to support The Nine in raising funds for inner city youth training scholarships.

 

These scholarships will provide a means to help get inner city youth off the streets and on the mats where they will learn physical fitness, self-discipline, self-confidence and respect.  Practicing and training in martial arts will improve the children's focus and teach them not only how to set goals but to achieve them -- a skill they can employ throughout their lives.
